How Knauf Products Fail - and How We Fix Them

• Knauf EcoSeal Plus gaps at top plates in 1920s Long Beach bungalows. The product itself is a quality water-based sealant, but it was often applied in thin beads during quick retrofits in the 2010s, especially in neighborhoods like Belmont Heights where crews worked fast through tight attics. We’ve pulled back insulation in a dozen homes where the EcoSeal bead was discontinuous at partition walls, leaving a 200-400 CFM50 leak path. • Knauf Insulation Jet Stream Ultra settled in cathedral ceilings.
