We’re the crew that shows up in Long Beach, from Belmont Shore to North Long Beach, with blower-door rigs in the truck and a written scope in hand. Wes Okafor, Owner
I started this operation in 2016 after five years running crews for a regional envelope contractor and getting tired of watching salesmen write scopes they’d never have to install. I hold a BPI Building Analyst certification and I’m the one who still climbs into the tight attics on 1920s California bungalows in Bluff Heights because I don’t trust anyone else’s knee measurements. I will absolutely bore you with your home’s ACH50 number at the kitchen table, and I will absolutely make sure you get that number in writing before we leave. On weekends I fish the Belmont Pier and lose money to the same regulars at the coffee shop on Second Street.
Marcus T., Lead Technician
Marcus has been with us since 2019 and runs the crew on every spray foam job in Long Beach, plus the trickier cathedral ceiling retrofits where you can’t just dump cellulose and hope. He’s certified in Icynene and Demilec application and he’s the reason we don’t get call-backs on foam jobs: he checks substrate temperature with an infrared gun before the rig starts, every time, even when the homeowner is standing there impatient. He grew up in Signal Hill, still lives there, and coaches a Pop Warner team that somehow wins despite his play-calling.
Dana K., Senior Installer
Dana specializes in our blown-in and dense-pack wall jobs, which means she spends a lot of time in Long Beach’s older neighborhoods, like Rose Park and Carroll Park, figuring out how to insulate walls without destroying original lath-and-plaster. She’s OSHA-10 certified and she’s the one who trained our crew on proper attic air sealing: top plates, can-light enclosures, the actual work that happens before the insulation blower shows up. She restores vintage motorcycles and has a running bet with Marcus about whose vehicle will break down first on any given Monday.
Elena R., Service Coordinator
Elena answers the phones and schedules the work, which sounds straightforward until you try to coordinate blower-door testing, material delivery, and a crew of four across fifteen cities while a live human is still picking up every call. She’s been with us since 2021 and she’s the one who makes sure your written scope, your written price, and your warranty docs are in your inbox before the truck leaves the yard. She lives in Bixby Knolls, knows every permit office timing quirk in Long Beach, and will remember your dog’s name on the second call.
Javier M., Apprentice Installer
Javier joined us in 2024 after two years in residential HVAC and a brief, self-described “disastrous” attempt at commercial roofing. He’s working through his BPI Envelope Professional certification and he’s currently our designated crawl-space specialist, partly because he’s thirty-two and still fits comfortably where the rest of us can’t. He handles most of our vapor-barrier and crawl-space encapsulation jobs in Long Beach, from the raised foundations in Alamitos Beach to the tighter spots in the Zaferia District. He makes his own hot sauce, brings it to job sites, and has been formally asked by three crew members to stop.
